Over 50 stalls at Khadi Bhawan; artisans gain a platform for market access and recognition alongside Diwali shopping
Lucknow: To promote Indian handicrafts, traditional arts, and the talent of artisans, FICCI FLO Lucknow organized ‘Artisan Mela Season-3’ at Khadi Bhawan, Dalibagh, under the leadership of Chairperson Simran Sahni. The fair was inaugurated by Siddharth Yadav, Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board. Artisans and weavers from various states across the country showcased their traditional products and artworks at the event. The initiative aims to foster self-reliance by providing artisans with market access, gaining recognition for their craft, and connecting them directly with customers.

What began as a modest initiative has now evolved into a comprehensive platform. This edition features over 50 stalls, with artisans participating from states including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, Kashmir, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Bengal. FICCI FLO Lucknow has provided exhibition space to the artisans free of cost, enabling them to reach customers and expand their businesses without incurring additional exhibition expenses.
With the festive season and Diwali shopping in mind, the fair offers a wide range of handicrafts and home décor products. The fair features a wide array of products, including Lucknow’s renowned Chikan embroidery, blue pottery, Patola sarees, handloom items, jute goods, Madhubani paintings, marble decor, bone carvings, jewelry, block prints, home linen, candles, diyas, bandhanwars (door hangings), recycled decor items, and honey. Notably, customers have the opportunity to purchase products rooted in traditional crafts and local art at reasonable prices.

To transform the fair into a festive experience rather than just a shopping event, arrangements have been made for entertainment programs, lucky draws, and food stalls. Special Navratri delicacies are also a major attraction for visitors. This blend of handicrafts, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere makes the fair an ideal destination for families to shop and spend quality time together.
This initiative by FICCI FLO Lucknow reflects a commitment to bridging the gap between traditional artisans and customers, preserving India’s cultural heritage, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities within the handicrafts sector. Such events not only promote art at local and national levels but also provide artisans with opportunities to find new customers and markets for their products.
The event was successfully organized by Event Chairs Aditi Jaggi Rastogi and Riya Punjabi. Their dedicated efforts played a pivotal role in establishing the ‘Artisan Mela Season-3’ as an effective platform for fostering meaningful dialogue and business connections among artisans, weavers, and customers.
